The Dream started with me running through a group of buildings (I presumed them to be a school) in full military garb. I was looking for the military HQ and assumed it was far from the area we were defending.I got frustrated when I didn't find it immediately and turned around to head back to my post. I ran into Derek from my old work. He was leaving a gym with about 30 other people and we spoke briefly before I continued on. I met up with a friendly squad of soldiers on my way back to my post and I asked if I could join them. The Sergeant was a fine young lady, but definitely a hardened veteran. She had light red hair that was poking out of the bottom of her helmet and smiled slightly when I asked if I could join up with them. She realized that she was smiling at me and quickly turned away in embarassment. We began army crawling towards our posts on the beach, aware that we could be shot at anytime. To make matters even worse, I had left my gun at my post. We crawled between a small wall and a chainlink fence when I sensed something wrong. I turned around as much as I could while still remaining low to the ground. To My horror I saw a Smoker* standing about 8 feet tall behind us. The horribly disfigured creature had a face in between its legs as if it was holding it with its knees. I said, "behind us." only loud enough so the Sergeant directly in front of me could hear, then realizing my stupidity yelled it once more so all the troops in the squad could hear. Everyone opened fire in its direction and it shot its tongue out to ensnare a trooper. Luckily it died before it could wrap the soldier up and break his back.
We Continued on our way and in no time arrived on a catwalk like structure above a beach. We had approx. 500 soldiers guarding the beach from both the catwalk I was on and directly below on the beach itself. I wasn't sure what we were guarding it for, but HQ was sure to have the place rigged with alarms and traps. I gazed over the beach looking for said alarms and traps when I saw a net along the only hill leading to my position. Just as I went to examine the net further I heard someone yell, "A Brain!"
I snapped my attention back to the beach and grabbed my rifle. A giant Brain was floating in the ocean towards the beach. Then in an instant it flipped over revealing a huge battelship that proceeded to ram into the catwalk I was on. It crushed about 50 soldiers down the line from me. Russian troops in orange, pink, and red garbs jumped from the battelship and slowly made their way up the remainder of the beach. Their movement was severly impeded by the amount of water they were wading through plus the fact that they too were looking for traps. I began picking them off on by one with my rifle. After every shot I took I had to re-pump my gun though. I began to get annoyed, then I ran out of ammo. I desperately looked for more, then asked someone for their gun. I realized the person directly to my left was the pretty young Sergeant from earlier. I looked at her then back at the beach, hopelessly. A Russian jumped off the ship and fired in our direction, spray lead everywhere.
The Sergeant was hit directly in the head, blood splattered on the wall behind her and onto me. I reached for her gun, determined to make the man that killed her pay.
End.
