The Second Nuclear Bomb

I am walking on the golden gate bridge with a girl I knew in high school (Courtney) when a ship opens fire on us. I see it fire a missile looking object and realize there is no way we can dodge it. A giant White bomb with shark teeth on the side came crashing down upon us. It landed right next to us, close enough that I could reach out and touch it. The piece of bridge we were standing on collapsed and we landed in the water on top of it. For some reason it floated and we started floating downstream.

"There is no way we'll get far enough away in time." I thought to myself.

The bomb exploded, I saw the mushroom cloud and a shockwave of fire come hurling at us.

"We're dead."

It hit us and we both burst into flames.

"If the flames don't kill us, the radiation will be sure to finish us off."

The flames went out and we both laid on our asphalt boat for what felt like hours. I rose to look at the damage the bomb had done to my body. I saw my companion, she was charred black, but seemed to still be alive. I looked at my arms and hands. The charred skin on my arms had begun to flake off, revealing my normal skin underneath, but my hands looked like coal and anytime I tried to peel it off I felt a shot of pain surge through me.

The skin started flaking off my companion as we reached the end of the river. We came ashore only to be greeted by the post apocolyptic remnants. A spider like robot descended upon us and pinned Courtney down with two metallic arms and used a flashlight like arm to start examining her face. I lept upon the robot stabbing a knife deep within its mouth-like passage. It collapsed and we made our escape into a nearby building.

Inside the building we found several more survivors, including my brother. We barricaded the building and started sorting out my options. For some reason, I got very protective of Courtney and kept her very close to me at all times. I also carried a flare gun and a .357 on me at all times.

We decided it was best that we try to move to a more secure location. We tried going out the back door, but a giant rodent attecked us. I shot it with the flare gun and it immediately incinerated into ashes. More assailants came, this time humans. I tried to shoot them with the flare gun, but they just dodged. Once they were in point blank range I pulled out the .357 and fired at the closest one. It hit him straight in the chest and he stumbled around. We closed the back door and began to drink and party for some reason.

I awake.
